Knop-a-Day "New York fashion week"

3.06.2011

Motivation and Inspiration Here we go again. Models that look like the everyday woman in the street with average clothing ! Not !!!
But what is the trend ? Everything goes ? What are the colors of the year ? The rainbow ? What is the motto ? I am still waiting for a leader. I like a color and a theme were all agree and get creative and we can discover the different approaches.

Lighting Technique I used two lights . One from each side.

Knop-a-Day "Statue of a Virgin"

3.04.2011

Motivation and Inspiration The pose of my model is one I have seen many times in sculptures and photographs. But when you are confronted with this moment you can't prevent to photograph it again. The lighting and the mood was in my eyes perfect. It is round and soft like a very relaxing pose. A women in thoughts about her being. An expression that I would call virgin.

Lighting Technique I used three lights. Two lights on the background and one spot on the model from the left side.

Knop-a-Day "Dream Theater"

2.22.2011

Motivation and Inspiration The setting is a studio with a model elevated on a pedestal. The lighting is dramatic and the pose feminine. The demanding pose captures your eyes which follow the line from her foot to her knee and up past her breast to her face. She holds you prisoner with her eyes which you try to escape.

Lighting Technique I used two lights. One light from above illuminates the model and background and the other light is a spotlight reflecting of her back.

Knop-a-Day "Light excitement"

2.21.2011

Motivation and Inspiration When you compare two pictures like the ones I am displaying I feel the same excitement making them and looking at them. The light and location display a mood that is enhanced by the highlights and shadows. You can feel light. It is a natural sense that makes you want to capture this moment of harmony.

Lighting Technique The picture to the left has one overhead light and the picture to the right has sunlight coming through a window.

Knop-a-Day "A view to heaven"

2.17.2011

Motivation and Inspiration The perspective is a very important point whether in an argument or on a picture it will lead the thoughts. I think of Rodchenko who looked at structures and people from different angles . This picture points to heaven and questions what lys beyond.

Lighting Technique I used two lights . One light on the background and one on my model.

Knop-a-Day "A Homage to my Wife"

2.14.2011

Motivation and Inspiration My other half the half that I cannot live without. The half that has my spirits and mind. Rescued from going under and shown a world of sharing. Our son and his happy nature are proof of a great combination. I got lucky !!!!!

Lighting Technique I used a snoot on my strobe which stood left of my camera.
